Welcome to the Stop-Inn Tavern, a beloved dining destination nestled in the charming town of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Just a block from the serene beauty of the lake, this restaurant embraces both the local community and visitors with its warm atmosphere and delicious offerings, blending classic Wisconsin flavors with a touch of modern culinary flair.
The Stop-Inn Tavern prides itself on a menu that highlights the rich traditions of American cuisine, with a particular nod to local ingredients that make this dining spot a must-visit. Featured items like the Maple-Glazed Carrots, roasted young carrots drizzled with Wisconsin maple syrup and adorned with chopped pistachios and Montchevre goat cheese, exemplify the artistry that goes into each dish. If you’re looking for comfort food, the iconic Prime Rib Sandwich is a crowd-pleaser, accompanied by homemade chips that will leave you craving more.
Start your meal with the Wisconsin Cheese Curds. Perfectly battered and fried to a golden crisp, these curds come with a house ranch that perfectly balances the savory flavors. For those with dietary preferences, you’ll find plenty of gluten-free options, including the fried delights that ensure you enjoy every bite without worry, just as customer Nathan L. praises the kitchen for their attention to gluten-free needs.
The ambiance at the Stop-Inn Tavern is equally inviting. The walls echo with the rich history of local racing culture, adorned with memorabilia that transports you into a thrilling world. You have the choice to dine indoors, in a screened-in porch, or on their patio, providing a relaxed atmosphere ideal for enjoying a refreshing drink. Speaking of drinks, you simply cannot visit without trying one of their famous Bloody Marys, a hallmark of Wisconsin dining, especially under the sun after a busy day at nearby Road America.
Guests have shared their delightful experiences, with Eric Paulsen highlighting the tavern's vibrant history, while Jenna C. commended the knowledgeable staff who guide patrons to flavorful meals. However, there are moments for improvement, as illustrated by a couple of reviews noting service inconsistencies, reminding us all that even the best spots are occasionally navigating the challenges of the dining experience. Nevertheless, the majority of reviews reflect a warm oasis where friends and families gather to indulge in good food and great company.
In a town known for its beauty and events, Stop-Inn Tavern stands out as a gem worth visiting, whether you are enjoying a weekend getaway or stopping by to cheer on local races. With its delicious menu rich in Wisconsin tradition, dedicated team, and inviting space, you'll want to make the Stop-Inn Tavern part of your Elkhart Lake journey.

My favorite place to stop when in town for events at Road America. So nice to have a place that offers gluten free options. Everything fried is gluten free, so even the fries are safe. The fish fry is amazing.

We got the steak sandwich, a salad, and the fish fry. All were quite good. The salad dressing is the same one Mom (also from Wisconsin) has made for the past 60+ years. Classic, old-school Wisconsin. You order drinks and food at separate bars. Bloody Mary was an excellent choice given that I was in Wisconsin and on vacation. You can eat on their patio, inside a screened porch, or inside. They also have some picnic tables in the grass if you have a dog with you. We didn't at this moment. Every place in and around Siebkens is a must-try.

Great ambiance, food good, most of service experience was good, except for a rude, older, female server. Interrupted me trying to convey my order to the cashier, and while watching was flabbergasted. Even approached my table unprofessionally. We left

Stopped in for dinner and a couple of drinks after setting up out our camper at Plymouth Rock Campground. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and able to offer recommendations. The food was full of flavor and plentiful. I definitely recommend stopping in and saying hi.

Very cool history in the tavern, especially if you're a racing fan. Good beer selection and excellent prime rib sandwich and smash burger options, too. A great time, especially after a visit to Road America.

You MUST taste the Prime Rib Sandwich!!! It is INCREDIBLE! (At least, we loved it!) It comes with homemade chips, that are also delicious! And the best part in my opinion: the gluten free bun is really tasty!
